    November's Thanksgiving Math Activity

    By Mathnasium | Added Nov 1, 2019

Fun and educational Thanksgiving math activity for elementary school students.

Thanksgiving is all about getting together with friends and family to share our bounty, our love and friendship. It's also the perfect time to have fun with math in real world ways. Will you be cooking for your Thanksgiving celebration? Then you'll be doing math!

Mathnasium has designed a fun and educational November activity that families can do together. Click on the links below to download and print Ace and Addie's Apple Pie Bites recipe activities for you and your child. Each recipe requires your child to use their math skills to halve or double the recipe before baking. The activity can be done as a fun math exercise, but the real fun lies in baking the recipe together and enjoying the pastries that come out of the oven!

We know you'll have a great time with these math-tastic recipes! If the problems prove very challenging for your child, consider that they might benefit from some math tutoring. At Mathnasium, our instructors teach math so that children not only understand it, but master it and love it as well!

We wish you a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Before I came to Mathnasium, I could sum up everything I felt about math in one word: 'EVIL!' I hated math. ... Mathnasium has been my safe haven. They truly have shown me the light when it came to addressing my fear and provided me with the tools that I need to rebuild my prior knowledge so that I won't forget it. Math is no longer a subject I shy away from but it is a subject I can boldly accept and understand.
